Refugee Health Research
Afghan refugees in the United States are an understudied population and data on their health and well-being are scarce, with only a handful of qualitative or small sample-size studies focused on Afghan refugees in the United States. Our team of refugee health experts are collecting date to generate preliminary evidence to conduct research studies to improve health and well-being for Afghan refugees. We will use quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods and employ scales which are validated among refugee populations. These research projects will focus on the most important health issues among Afghan refugees, such as mental health, Social Determinants of Health, barriers to healthcare, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and children and women health.
