Originating from Afghanistan, Zarmina navigated the challenges of displacement and resettlement, ultimately becoming a dedicated paid Health Educator at SI. Starting as a client, Zarmina transitioned into a volunteer, sharing her lived experience and knowledge of her community. Today, in her role as a Refugee Health Navigator/Educator for SI’s Refugee Family Support First 5 of Sacramento Project, Zarmina is recognized for her unwavering commitment to advancing the quality of life in her community, and a testament as to how SI can uplift and empower refugees resettling in the US.
